About the Opportunity

Reporting to the senior director, talent partnerships, the talent partner will work in partnership with people managers in the Business unit and individual contributors, serving as a primary point of contact in aligning with Foundation/team goals, to provide innovative solutions using their experience, data analysis, and coaching skills to guide leaders in a variety of people practices. The talent partner will establish relationships, make connections to diagnose, solve problems, and anticipate challenges in support of staff at all levels and will act as a trusted advisor and coach to management and staff.

While the talent partner can be based primarily at one of the Foundation’s three offices (our headquarters in Princeton, N.J., New York City, or Washington, D.C.), this is not a remote position. The talent partner will be required to visit the Princeton office as defined by the Foundation’s return-to-work policies still to be determined.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with and coach people managers and individual contributors to facilitate organizational and cultural change.
  • Support the implementation of talent management initiatives, including workforce/succession planning, talent development, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Build strong business relationships with employees and people managers to develop, grow job/role capacity/skill to meet the needs of the organization. Provide high-quality HR business partnership to the organization, providing advice on best practices and guidance on the interpretation and practical applications of HR policies, procedures, and norms.
  • Ensure fairness and accuracy and HR documentation.
  • Assess and identify capabilities for all roles to then build individual development plans and career paths for all.
  • Work across the Foundation with people leaders to create development plans for all employees to improve talent readiness, mobility, and to create plans for succession (bench strength). 
  • Support and implement employee engagement and retention strategies and programs.
  • Facilitate and recommend training on HR practices, policy, and compliance.
  • Review and recommend change management, continuous process and program improvements (training, certification, team-building, equity training, people leader, and other outside environment trainings).
  • Track workforce analytics, intelligence to drive industry best practices within the Foundation for the employee lifecycle.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Commitment to racial and health equity and the Foundation’s vision, values, and Guiding Principles.
  • Experience working effectively in and fostering an inclusive environment as part of a multidisciplinary team with persons from diverse cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Strategic Orientation: Demonstrated ability to understand and connect the day-to-day priorities, objectives, and activities for the HR functions to those of the Foundation to optimize results.
  • Analytics and Data Intelligence: Strong diagnostic, analytical, and quantitative skills with a demonstrated track record for translating data into strategic guidance.
  • Consulting Skills: Demonstrated consultative and business partnering skills with the ability to effectively communicate and influence partners across all areas of the business and levels.
  • Change Management: Ability to clearly and persuasively drive change utilizing strong presentation skills. 
  • Internal Communications: Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesize material and focus quickly on the essence of an issue; to identify major opportunities in a specific area; big-picture thinking in support of the overall HR strategy.
  • Project Management: Strong knowledge and demonstrated application of project management methodologies and approaches. End-to-end oversight, drive, and management of a portfolio of projects.
  • Industry Education and Experience: Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources or Business Management and five years of general HR experience with at least one to two years under a functional area in performance management, learning and development, and/or training.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

The talent partner will perform job duties in a typical business office environment. Specific physical abilities required by this job include operating basic office equipment. Will be required to attend meetings, potentially both in person and off-site, via phone or videoconference.
