Fair Fight Action is a national voter rights organization rooted in Georgia. We are the nation’s only organization focused on promoting free and fair elections through litigation, legislation, and advocacy, bringing high-impact campaign strategies to this urgent work. What Is The Fair Fight Fellows (FFF) Program?
Fair Fight Fellows is a paid-internship program for people interested in learning and participating in the effort to ensure free and fair elections for all. The Fellow’s time commitment will be 10 to 20 hours per week and hours are flexible to accommodate personal schedules; academic or otherwise. All fellows will receive a stipend of $1,600 per month.
Fellowships are three months in length and begin right away. If you are in an academic program and are chosen as a Fellow, Fair Fight Action will work with you to fulfill any academic requirements your school might have in order for you to receive credit for your internship.

What You’ll Learn
At the conclusion of the Fellows program, participants will be able to:
- Identify efforts to discourage and disenfranchise voters in voter registration, ballot access, or counting of votes and the catastrophic effect it has on our democracy and our communities.
- Construct viable solutions to combat voter suppression through one or more of the areas of focus in the Fellows program: communications, data & technology, fundraising, organizing, political, and voter protection.
- Examine advocacy efforts for progressive values in Georgia such as criminal justice reform, reproductive justice and more.
- Apply lessons learned in the Fellows program to combat voter suppression and support voting rights in their communities at home and abroad.
What You’ll Do
Fair Fight Action welcomes a wide range of applicants with diverse skill sets, particularly in the following departments:
Creative and Digital: We’re looking for candidates with a wide range of digital and content skills to help drive our message. You may be involved in a variety of ways:
- Engage and collaborate with high-profile influencers, including but not limited to celebrities, musicians, and other online personalities.
- Create compelling content (graphics, social copy, TikToks/IG reels, etc.) about voting rights and the importance of getting involved using current digital trends and content formats.
- Work on new creative projects that are considered “non-traditional” in the nonprofit space.
- Assist in scheduling content and curating social media content calendars.
Communications: Fair Fight Action seeks an organized, hardworking, and creative Communications Fellow to join our communications team. As a member of Fair Fight’s communications team, the Communications Fellow will report to the Communications Director and work collaboratively with the political, research, and voter protection teams to:
- Assist in drafting talking points, press releases, social media and email copy, and other messaging materials.
- Support media monitoring on key and breaking news developments.
- Support the organization and execution of press events, including pitch calls and setup/takedown of the event.
- Research press narratives, media outlets, and reporters.
- Update and track press lists.
- Assist with email correspondence.
- Other duties as assigned.
Voter Protection: Fair Fight Action is seeking undergraduate or graduate students who are detail-oriented doers with a large capacity to learn new things quickly, an enthusiasm for empowering voters, and a problem-solving spirit of "yes." This role is for someone passionate about ensuring that voters can register, stay on the rolls, and have their votes count by working to mitigate barriers to the ballot box for all eligible voters.
- The candidate must be a Georgia resident.
- Support the Voter Protection team in managing and executing programmatic priorities within Georgia.
- Assist with data entry and volunteer support.
- Conduct research, analysis, and writing on voting and elections-related litigation, legislation, laws, and policies, as well as their political contexts.
- Respond to voters to provide needed resources and follow up as necessary to document their experiences.
- Monitor and report on Georgia County Board of Elections and State Election Board (SEB) meetings.
- Draft internal and external-facing communications, presentations, and other materials.
- Provide other programmatic support and duties as assigned.
Political & Organizing: Fair Fight Action seeks to expand the political power of the organization in Georgia by building and engaging with pro-democracy elected officials, allies, and candidates. We are seeking undergraduate or graduate students who are detail-oriented doers with a large capacity to learn new things quickly, an enthusiasm for empowering voters, and a passion for electing pro-voter candidates across the state.
- The candidate must be a Georgia resident.
- Support the Political and Organizing team in managing and executing programmatic priorities within Georgia.
- Assist with data entry and volunteer support.
- Document detailed reports covering meetings with stakeholders and elected officials. This could include, but is not limited to, engaging elected officials in advocacy efforts and serving as key support between Fair Fight and its endorsed candidates.
- Assist with outreach to local and state-level elected officials and candidates seeking support through our endorsement process or serving as Fair Fight surrogates across various channels.
- Support the maintenance and organization of a master political list (database) and organizing outreach efforts based on contact relevance to PAC-related initiatives.
- Draft internal and external-facing communications, presentations, and other materials.
- Assist with different political and organizing projects as needed.
Research: Fair Fight Action is seeking motivated, detail-oriented fellows to assist the Research Department in efforts to combat voter suppression at all levels through media and meeting monitoring and by creating factual, action-oriented documents. Research Fellows report to the Deputy Research Director and work closely with the entire research team.
- Support the Research team in efforts to combat voter suppression at the local, state, and national levels.
- Draft memos and other research documents on issues related to voting and elections.
- Monitor and report on meetings held by the state legislature and the Georgia State Election Board.
- Use research tools to track and analyze voting-related legislation and actions in Georgia and across the country.
- Assist with various short- and long-term research projects as needed.
Southern States: Fair Fight Action works with partners in multiple Southern states to combat voter suppression, expand access to the ballot box, and build political power. We seek a highly motivated fellow who will report to the Southern States Director and collaborate with other departments to help implement projects across the South.
- Research and draft memos on voter suppression policies and their impact on minority communities in Southern states.
- Help build and implement campaigns to advocate for more expansive voting laws and procedures, such as early voting and rights restoration.
- Work directly with partners and allies across the South to develop and implement strategies to build political power, including community engagement, policy advocacy, and voter protection.
- Engage with candidates and elected officials during and outside election cycles to support a pro-voter agenda.
- Support the Southern States Director and Deputy Southern States Director in collaborating with other departments and external partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
Journalism: The Journalism Fellow will focus on evaluating and synthesizing the traditional media landscape in Southern states across various media platforms, from local to national. The Fellow is supervised by the Southern States Director.
- Research the media landscape in Southern states.
- Investigate the quality of information and access to that information.
- Draft memos detailing the media landscape, identifying gaps, and analyzing how those gaps impact access to information.
- Present research findings to key stakeholders internally.
- Brainstorm strategies for advancing voter education and civic engagement in media deserts and underserved areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Being a Fair Fight Fellow
Fellows will be paid a monthly stipend of $1,600 for 10 to 20 hours of work per week. Note: stipend money is subject to taxes and withholdings. Fellowships range from 3 to 6 months.

- Detail oriented. FFFs can complete detailed tasks and have attention to detail. This role in particular will require a high degree of organization.
- Proficient utilizing essential tools. FFFs have a solid knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite.
- Thrives in a diverse, mission-driven workplace. FFFs appreciate how voter suppression targets marginalized communities and communities of color and operate in a way that reflects FFA’s belief in diversity as a strength and respect for all.
