Prime Responsibility:

Collaborate with firm leadership, sectors, Director of Marketing, communications team, marketing team, and offices to develop, implement and maintain overall communications and public relations strategy for the firm.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Public Relations

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive public relations strategy to elevate the EYP brand, focusing on initiatives such as new services, new offices, strategic hires, design recognition, and firm news
  • Manage public relations tactical plans in partnership with individual sectors and offices
  • Identify and execute media opportunities and events that raise awareness of EYP and support marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local and national media outlets, both industry and community-specific
  • Serve as initial point of contact for media inquiries, fielding requests in cooperation with company leadership.
  • Manage and guide work with external public relations firms, including targeted media campaigns and crisis communication as necessary
  • Identify and facilitate strategic sponsorships and community connections in cooperation with offices and the Philanthropy Committee


  • Manage strategic direction of communications efforts in alignment with sector and firm goals and brand messaging
  • Oversee the creation of content and ensure consistency of EYP brand voice across communications channels
  • Direct the management of the firm’s website, social media, publications, and internal communications
  • Measure effectiveness of EYP communication channels and content development with SEO and analytics programs to continually enhance output
  • Collaborate with sectors and offices to raise awareness of EYP projects and people, ensuring brand alignment for any content produced by sectors and offices
  • Ensure consistent, organized, and timely internal dissemination of new content and performance analytics
  • Leverage emerging social media and other communication trends to promote EYP
  • Provide support and counsel to company executives on internal and external communications
  • Manage annual communications and public relations budget


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, or related field, or equivalent
  • Ten or more years related experience
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in public relations for professional services, preferably in a design-related field
  • Exceptional writing and verbal skills, targeting messages for multiple audiences across a variety of communications channels while adhering to brand voice guidelines
  • Able to influence and make solid recommendations for media strategy
  • Ability to build trust and work collaboratively with all key firm stakeholder groups
  • Strong ability to visualize and guide how communications can be supported/augmented through design, video/audio, and other digital techniques and campaigns
  • Drive and desire to be proactive and seek out promotional opportunities for EYP
  • Able to manage, motivate, and mentor a diverse team located across EYP offices
  • Motivated by a collaborative environment
  • Adept at managing multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities across a matrix organization structure
